Scarves in London Fashion Week

Whilst most people are just thinking about taking their woolies off as they step in to spring, London Fashion Week is already looking to Autumn/winter. This famous London fashion event took place in February this year and provides us with an insight as to what will be in our high street stores toward the end of the year. With designers like House of Holland and Vivienne Westwood making an appearance we can take a sneaky peak to know what is for keeps in our wardrobe this year.

Time and time again on the catwalk we are seeing tailored and feminine fashion. Not quite the shoulder pads of the 80′that have been popular recently but smart tailoring is definitely here in a big way. Whether it is a small jacket with tailored trousers or a tailored shift dress that accentuates the waist the look is smart and refined. If you have a button shirt for instance take it all the way up to the top button to really get the look.

If you want to add a little bit of colour to the smart tailored look you can simply add a little scarf tied around the neck. This was seen many times on the catwalk with designers such as Vivienne Westwood. Choose a simple well fitted dress that comes to the knee and team it with a brightly colored square scarf that is folded in half and tied round the neck. This look is so elegant and is best worn to an elegant restaurant or out for lunch with the girls.

Tween, an up and coming fashion name from Istanbul also demonstrated the elegance of the woolen scarf when used by men, and for this winter when teamed with a well fitted coat the scarf for men can look sophisticated and sexy. The look he is to use darker muted colours and wrap the scarf many times round the neck, so you just get a collar effect without the ends hanging down. This can either be worn alone or teamed with a matching woolen hat.

The scarf is one fashion accessory that is never left out on the catwalk. London Fashion Week has demonstrated that this versatile accessory is not only up to the minute but adds glamour to any wardrobe. You can give your outfit a completely different look with the use of a neck scarf. Try experimenting with different colours and patterns to jazz up the tailored look this autumn.

London Fashion Week Rules

It hasn’t been long since the last day of the London fashion week, but fashion stores have already replaced their clothes with garments from the recent collections. How do we know which clothes belong to the new collections and how do we choose the ones that are most likely to be worn in the following seasons – these are the questions that bother most women, these days.

A look at the London catwalks will provide us all the information we need to buy fashionable clothes. The majority of London designers have chosen the military look for the 2010/2011 winter trends. Trench coats with double buttons and belted waist are, thus, obligatory in any woman´s closet, if they want to look stylish all the year round.

The colors that dominated this year´s fashion presentations were the earth tones: brown, mustard, tan and yellow. The makeup was either complementary or contrasting to the colors of the clothes; therefore, the majority of the models displayed natural pink or golden eye shadows and lipsticks.

‘Rock star’ was the keyword that dominated the entire London fashion week as the majority of the displayed items were inspired by the look of English rock singer David Bowie. T-shirts and dresses were all embellished with powerful and colorful prints representing architectural designs, flowers and pop singers. In addition, the long rebellious hairstyles of the models were in keeping with the outfits they presented.

This winter is all about midi skirts or at least this is what designers have proposed for this new season when they replaced the already famous skinny jeans with blue jeans, cotton or even satin skirts. These elegant garments were used in combination with thigh or knee high rocker boots in order to create a powerful, yet attractive contrast.

Accessories continue to play an important part in the outfits that designers introduced last week. They recommend long colorful scarves disorderly worn over the shoulders or around the neck. Big large bags were replaced with small purses that continue to be carried in one hand, instead of over the arm.

Thus, we have seen that the military and the rock or pop star look are the trends that govern this winter season. These styles can be easily achieved by purchasing any of the above mentioned garments. Thanks to the wide range of clothes and offers made by designers, you, too, can renew your wardrobe with little expenses.

London Fashion Shows

You have often heard one say, “A man is known by the company he keeps”. However it seems these days that a person is more likely to be known by the attire he/she wears. It is considered, that the biggest mistake a person can ever commit is a fashion faux pas. One thing that is inevitable in the fashion world is change. We are consistently being presented with various advertisement gigs that portray what famous celebrities are wearing and this has a direct impact on our lives. While shopping for clothes, a typical teenager would often say, “I want a dress that resembles what Bono was wearing in his latest music video”. Today, fashion dictates our lives and what we wear. Whether it is at a party or at work, we want our dress to reflect our taste and attitude. On other occasions, we are keener on making a personal style statement.

No lucid citation can be made regarding the advent of the London fashion culture. It dates back to the period during the Hippie culture which was originally a youth movement that began in the United States. It started during the 1960s and spread all over the world. This was probably one of the first major fashion influence that the world had witnessed. Hippie fashions and values had a profound impact on global culture and influenced major areas such as television, film and popular music. One such example was the use of homemade tie-dyed t-shirts that had become very popular.

The end of the Second World War had some more revolutionary fashion changes in store.During the 1930s, actresses Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich were often photographed wearing trousers and this made trousers more acceptable for women.By the end of the war, women had experienced a sense of independence, were experiencing their own individuality and were more liberalized. This allowed the women to fight for their rights and influenced a change in what they started to wear. Gradually, this had an impact on the women of London. They became wary of the fashion culture and became susceptible to change in what they wore.

During the early to mid 1970s, “Punk” originated as a style in London from the designer Vivienne Westwood and her partner Malcolm McLaren. Nonconformist and postmodernist in its nature and essence, this resulted from the economic depression that was prevalent during this period in London.

Top Brand Professional Automotive Tools Reviewed – Know Your Budget

The tool market is well serviced in terms of brands, design, quality and price. The key consideration is to evaluate your needs. For example, it is pointless buying a laptop capable driving sophisticated 3G games when really all that is required from the unit is basic desktop and internet work. This kind of example also applies to buying tools. For instance, why waste one’s budget on buying the most expensive tools when their application is for occasional hobby type tasks.

Lets start with an overview comparison. It is widely agreed that the best quality and designed tools are manufactured by the Snap-on company. This brand of tools is designed for the professional market. No tool brand is perfect and infallible to failure. However, the Snap-on lifetime warranty means that when a tool breaks, it is replaced or repaired by the service representatives. Snap-on tools can be bought from their distribution trucks and vans that visit automotive workshops. Alternatively, their online catalog allows purchasing via the internet. Second-hand and recycled Snap-on tools are also eagerly traded through websites like eBay and eBay Partner sites.

As noted above, Snap-on automotive tools are at the upper price range. However, there is no shortage of professional grade tool brands at price points below that of the Snap-on brand. For example the brands: Matco, MAC and Cornwell are equally respected in the professional automotive sector. Matco, MAC and Cornwell off a range of professional tools that deliver quality and reliability while carrying sound lifetime warranties and professional after sales service. And are less expensive than the Snap-on brand for the budget minded professional automotive technician. The availability of these brands for sale is similar to Snap-on tools. Trucks visit and distribute tools at automotive workshops. Also, online catalogs and auction type websites offer buy opportunities.

For those budget sensitive buyers, the next set of tool brands is SK and Craftsman. The manufacturing quality of these brands meet USA standards and carry similar lifetime warranties like those brands mentioned above. So, for the semi-professional or hobbyist application these tool brands are an ideal choice. Some may argue that the SK brand, although not as popular, is a little superior to the Craftsman brand. But this opinion is subjective. Craftsmanship and SK brand tools are a more accessible to the buying market. For example, Craftsmanship brand tools are stocked at Sears stores, while the SK brand is found in automotive parts stores and outlets.

In summary, if price is no restraint, then tools from the Snap-on range are considered to be the best quality. Where quality and service is still a priority, then brands such as: matco, MAC and Cornwell offer offer quality profession lines of tools as less expensive price points. Finally, the brands SK and Craftsmanship serve the semi-professional market with tools that are not subject to the high demands of daily professional usage. The advice for any buyer is assess the task application of the tool, and allocate your budget to buy the right tool for the right job.
